Ideas for Self-Care

You have permission to rest. Take time to do what makes your soul happy.

Below are some ideas to get you started… sometimes all of the ideas can immobilize you, if you feel like that might be the case, I encourage you to go down the list in order and do the first one that seems helpful right now. I am inspired that you are taking the time to prioritize you-you deserve it.

  1. Drink Water
  2. Write in a journal
  3. Go outside (to a park or near the water)
  4. Take a bath
  5. Take a nap
  6. Close your eyes for 5 minutes
  7. Meditate or Use Grounding
  8. Light a candle
  9. Name 10 good things about yourself
  10. Reach out to someone you care about
  11. Watch an episode of a show or podcast
  12. Watch an interesting TED talk
  13. Look up at the clouds and try to find shapes or images in them
  14. Take a shower
  15. Take a few hours off of social media
  16. Watch funny videos on YouTube
  17. Write down things you are grateful for
  18. Vent about how you’re feeling (writing or to someone you trust)

  52. Take yourself on a date (spend the next few hours/minutes caring about yourself and doing things for you that you might do on a date)
  53. Celebrate an achievement (this can even be something like ‘I got dressed this morning before 10am for the first time this week’)
  54. Netflix and Chill
  55. Create a goal board
  56. Clean something in your home or apartment
  57. Start learning a new language
  58. Do something you’ve been putting off
  59. play a game
  60. take 10 photos today
  61. Watch the music video for a favorite song
  62. Unsubscribe from all of those emails you’re sick of getting
  63. Make a budget
  64. Rearrange an area or room
  65. Sell some items online
  66. Play the floor is lava
  67. Get dressed up just because
  68. declutter what needs decluttering
  69. Reach out because you need support
  70. Do a puzzle (crossword, sudoku, jigsaw)
  71. make a list of lies you’ve been told and your truth about those lies
  72. try to become aware of your negativity and replace those thoughts with positive thoughts
